Poway Chamber Honors Poway Veterans Organization with Beneficiary Donation from Annual Mickey Cafagna Memorial Golf Classic

Poway, CA (November 12th, 2024)— Each year, the Poway Chamber of Commerce members participate in a vote to determine the chosen non-profit organization to receive a beneficiary check, ensuring a democratic and inclusive approach to giving back to the community. This year, the Chamber is proud to support the Poway Veterans Organization (PVO), a respected non-profit organization dedicated to providing critical assistance to veterans and their dependents residing in Poway, Ramona, and surrounding areas. The Poway Chamber presented a beneficiary check to the PVO, made possible through the generosity of participants, sponsors, and supporters of the annual 11th Mickey Cafagna Memorial Golf Classic.

The Poway Chamber of Commerce recognizes the Poway Veterans Organization for its commitment to addressing the financial needs of veterans and their families, especially in times of illness, injury, unemployment, or unexpected hardship. The funds raised through the Memorial Golf Classic will directly support the PVO’s ongoing initiatives, which include emergency financial assistance, housing support, and resources for veterans in crisis.

The Mickey Cafagna Memorial Golf Classic was established to honor Mickey Cafagna, former Mayor of Poway. He was one of the most loved and respected elected officials in the City’s history, who distinguished himself by his thoughtful leadership and enthusiastic support of numerous nonprofit organizations. 

Our 12th Mickey Cafagna Memorial Golf Classic will take place on Friday, April 4th, 2025, with a shotgun start at 1:00pm at the Rancho Bernardo Inn.
