Poway Chamber of Commerce and Green Valley Civic Association Announce the 2024 Candidates Forum

Poway, CA (September 16, 2024) – The Poway Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Green Valley Civic Association (GVCA), is thrilled to announce the 2024 Candidates Forum, scheduled for Wednesday, October 16th at 6:00pm. This important event will take place in person at the Mickey Cafagna Community Center, Oak Hall East, located at 13094 Civic Center Drive.

Every two years since 2010, the Poway Chamber has facilitated a Candidates Forum to allow Poway citizens and community members to hear from their local candidates before Election Day. The 2024 Candidates Forum offers a valuable opportunity for local residents to engage directly with candidates seeking to serve in Poway City Council Districts 2 and 4, and PUSD School Board District Areas A and E. Candidates will respond to a series of predetermined questions as well as live questions from the audience, if time permits.

The forum will follow a Q&A format rather than a debate, with a neutral moderator guiding the discussion. This format ensures that each candidate has ample opportunity to present their perspectives and address community concerns in a structured manner.

In preparation for the forum, all candidates were provided with a pre-forum questionnaire, designed to elicit their positions and insights on key issues affecting our community. This questionnaire is intended to provide attendees with a clearer understanding of each candidate's viewpoints prior to the event.
