About Us
The Community Food Connection, located in the heart of Poway, is an all-volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to helping those who are food insecure. With the dedication of our over 150 volunteers, we provide food to over 1,200 families/week. We are open every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 3-6 to distribute food. The food we receive comes from the San Diego Food Bank and Feeding San Diego through partnerships with local grocery stores such as Vons, Walmart, Stater Brothers, Coscto, Aldi, Trader Joes, Sprouts, Target, and others. We also receive government funded food from the San Diego Food Bank once per month. On average we give out about 76,000 pounds of food per month to families who come from not only Poway, Rancho Penasquitos, and Rancho Bernardo, but from all areas of San Diego County.
