The Office of County Supervisor Joel Anderson, District 2, is excited to offer students a hands-on internship opportunity in San Diego County! Interns will gain hands-on experience in policy research, HR and management support, casework, and community outreach, while also representing the Supervisor at local events. Interns will have the opportunity to present certificates of recognition awards to community leaders and may contribute to our Media Department by researching, writing, and editing content for newsletters, newspapers, and online publications.
Interns will also support essential office operations, including constituent correspondence, research, database management, and public speaking. This internship combines administrative work with community engagement, helping students develop professional skills and build connections. Students of all majors are encouraged to apply, and we coordinate with schools to offer course credit. High school and college students, as well as anyone seeking volunteer experience, are welcome.
Our program requires a 125-hour commitment, with the option to complete an additional 125 hours as part of an Executive Internship. Legislative Interns will receive a personalized letter of recommendation and a certificate of recognition award signed by Supervisor Joel Anderson. Executive Interns, upon successful completion of the program, will be honored with an updated letter of recommendation and a formal proclamation award from San Diego County Supervisor Joel Anderson. We offer flexible scheduling and can accommodate your existing school or work commitments. Our office is open Monday through Saturday from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Interns should be able to commute to our El Cajon District Office and commit to a minimum of six hours per week.
This is a fantastic way to build your resume, develop professional skills, and network with elected officials and community leaders. Apply today at www.SupervisorJoelAnderson.com/intern and start making an impact!
