Tell us about your company
The Repair Tech is a woman-owned, family-run HVAC and appliance company based in San Diego. We serve both residential and commercial clients, and our focus has always been on honest, solution-first service. We fix before we replace and never push what people don’t need. Our boutique-style approach means each customer gets personalized care, transparency, and a team that treats your home or business like our own. We’re big believers in long-term relationships, community involvement, and making the trades more inclusive—especially for women.
What made you decide to choose this field or industry?
This business is part of my family legacy—my father has a similar company up north, and I grew up watching the pride and dignity in serving people through skilled trade work. I later brought my background in business and marketing to this field, and what started as helping out the family business turned into my own entrepreneurial journey. I wanted to break barriers, especially as a woman in a male-dominated field, and show others what’s possible when passion meets purpose.
What is the most interesting part of your business?
No two days are ever the same! But beyond that, it’s the human connection—helping families breathe cleaner air, restoring a beloved appliance, or supporting someone who’s just overwhelmed by a broken A/C in the middle of a heatwave. We get to show up and bring relief, and that’s powerful. Also, I love being a Latina woman showing up in a space where people don’t expect to see me. Surprise!
What do you wish you knew starting out, or what would you have done differently?
I wish I had known how much mindset work would be involved. The logistics of running a business are one thing, but growing it while being a mom, a wife, a leader—it takes a lot of self-trust and grace. I would have outsourced some tasks sooner and allowed myself more room to fail forward.
What are you most proud of?
The impact. Whether it’s mentoring young women, hiring locally, or being a service provider families know they can trust—we’ve built something with heart. And my kids see it. They see that mom can run a business, care about people, and make a difference. That’s everything.
Tell us something we would not know about you
We do repairs for food trucks, RVs, boats, and even patio heaters! Most people only think of home A/C units, but we’re way more versatile than that. We also proudly hire veterans and collaborate with organizations like Wounded Warriors. On top of that, we donate services and time to nonprofits like Hope on the Hard Road, special needs sports teams, and local schools. Giving back is at the heart of everything we do.
What keeps you inspired and motivated?
My son, who has special needs, is my biggest teacher. He reminds me every day why access, empathy, and advocacy matter—especially in business. Also, our clients. When someone calls and says, “I knew I could count on you,” it makes every long day worth it.
When and why did you join the Poway Chamber of Commerce?
We joined in 2023 to connect with other small businesses, give back locally, and build meaningful relationships in the Poway community. We believe in showing up—and the Chamber helps us do that. But for me, it’s also deeply personal. My roots are here. My dad had his office in Poway when I was in high school, and I worked for him right here in town while attending Poway High. This community helped shape who I am, and being able to grow our family business here now feels like coming full circle.
What would you tell someone who is considering joining the Poway Chamber?
Do it! The Chamber is more than networking—it’s like a small business family. You gain visibility, support, and genuine friendships. You never know who will open a door or cheer you on when you least expect it.
What has been your favorite part of being a member of the Poway Chamber of Commerce?
The people. The warmth, the collaboration, and the sense that we’re all building something bigger than ourselves. Also, the Chamber truly uplifts members through spotlights, events, and connections that feel personal, not transactional.
