On Friday, May 29, 2015 at 7:30pm San Diego Folk Heritage is excited to welcome Billy Lee and the Swamp Critters to our stage. The all ages event will take place at Templar's Hall in Old Poway Park (14134 Midland Road - Poway, CA 92064). Admission is $18 for members and $22 standard, available at the door or online. About the Band: The Swamp Critters play Gulf Coast music ? a gumbo of Cajun/Zydeco, Boogie Woogie,Texas Swing, Blues, and Doo-Wop. The band features accordion, fiddle, scrub board, bass, guitar, drums, and sometimes trombone, clarinet, or sax, and specializes in tight three-part vocal harmonies. Past performances include CA Center for the Arts, Gator-by-the-Bay Festival, Paradise Casino, Simi Valley Crawfish Festival, Long Beach Zydeco/Cajun/Blues Festival, Sycuan Casino, December Nights in Balboa Park, Warner Springs Resort, Mardi Gras, Trolley Barn Park Summer Concert Series, and Adams Avenue Roots Festival. Billy Lee was raised in the ?Cajun Triangle? on traditional Cajun and Zydeco music. He adds his original songs to the repertoire and sings in in Cajun French. Billy Lee coordinates dance instruction for the Bon Temps Social Club in Balboa Park and has been known to incorporate dance into the Swamp Critters shows. San Diego Folk Heritage is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the folk arts in Southern California.
