Grab your mask or costume and head to the House on the Hill Restaurant for PowPAC's first Masquerade Ball fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 30, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. The evening, which features food, drinks, dancing and a costume contest, benefits the Elden Davisson Memorial Scholarship Fund for graduating seniors from the Poway Unified School District interested in studying theater arts.
You're not only going to have a good time, but you'll get to indulge your inner performer for a good cause, said Krystal Price Workman, PowPAC's special events manager. It's a great opportunity to get together, raise money for the kids, and support local theater.
PowPAC, Poway's Community Theatre, will be using the entire House on the Hill Restaurant for the event. Tickets are $25 per person and include dancing to tunes provided by DJ Earl Henry and hors d'oeuvres. Wine and cocktails are available from the cash bar. A bake sale will offer a selection of brownies, cookies, and cupcakes. If you come in costume, you can enter a contest and be eligible to win a prize. However, costumes are not required to attend the event.
The Elden Davisson Memorial Scholarship Fund is named after a PowPAC board member and the theater's original webmaster, who passed away in 2007. The board created the scholarship in Davisson's memory in 2008. The fund has awarded at least $1,000 in scholarships each year for past years.
