Government Affairs Meeting

This meeting, which is put together by the Government Affairs Committee, provides the Chamber's membership and Board with input on local, county, state and federal legislative issues.

Superintendent of Poway Unified School District
Dr. Ben Churchill began serving as Superintendent of Poway Unified School District in San Diego, California, in 2024. A thirty-year educator, he previously led Carlsbad Unified School District for eight years and has served as a chief academic officer, assistant superintendent, principal, and teacher, beginning his career teaching English in China.
Dr. Churchill is committed to ensuring every student graduates with a clear and achievable plan for success in college, trade school, military service, or the workforce. Under his leadership, districts have expanded dual enrollment and career pathways, earned state and national recognitions for innovation and equity, and strengthened partnerships that connect students to high-demand careers.
