Stop by and visit an upgraded, energy-efficient home and learn what you can do to improve the overall comfort and indoor air quality of your home. The nonprofit California Center for Sustainable Energy is hosting free guided tours of this recently upgraded energy-efficient home. Visitors can find out for themselves how tract-style homes constructed in the 1970s and 1980s can be upgraded to stay warm in winter, cool in summer and save energy. Meet the homeowners to hear about the advantages of installing energy-efficiency upgrades. Features include whole house air sealing, attic insulation, insulated air ducts, dual-pane windows and doors, programmable thermostat, LED and CFL lights, ENERGY STAR appliances and a high-efficiency clothes washer.
