About: Captain Claudia Delgado began her law enforcement career in 2006. During her 19-year tenure, Claudia has worked a variety of assignments to include Detention Services, patrol operations, and investigations. Her professional achievements through hard work and dedication have resulted in promotional opportunities through the ranks of sergeant, lieutenant and now captain assigned to the Poway Station. As the Poway Sheriff's Station Captain, Claudia is responsible for law enforcement and administrative operations in the city of Poway, and the unincorporated communities of Ramona, 4S Ranch, and Rancho Santa Fe. Claudia is committed to the safety of the communities she serves, and to fostering relationships with her community members. Her passion for helping others and ensuring the safety of those who cannot help themselves, inspired her to pursue this career. Claudia is married and has three young daughters.
Brian Mitchell
Fire Chief, City of Poway Fire Department
About: Brian Mitchell began his fire service career as a Firefighter/Paramedic with the San Diego Fire Department, where he served for eight years before joining the City of Poway in 2001. Over the years, he advanced through every rank in the Poway Fire Department-including Firefighter/Paramedic, Fire Engineer, Fire Captain for nine years, Fire Battalion Chief for six years, and Deputy Fire Chief for three years-culminating in his appointment as Fire Chief in December. His career has included frontline experience during the significant wildfires that impacted Poway in 2003 and 2007. He currently resides in Oceanside with his wife of 30 years and is proud to have a 27-year-old son and an 18-month-old grandson.
