About: Pam Garramone has been an adult educator for the past 32 years. She started her career in 1992 in the US Peace Corps as an EFL teacher in Hungary. After service, she hired on to Napa Valley Adult School in 1994 as an ESL/Citizenship teacher, Grant
Coordinator, Supervisor of Programs, and finally, Interim-Assistant Principal. In 2004
Ms. Garramone became Principal of Sonoma Valley Adult School till 2012 before
moving to Southern California to sign on with Poway Adult School as Assistant Director where she has had oversight of academic and CTE programs. Poway Adult School is a member of the Education to Career Network of North San Diego County (ETCN). Over her 32 years as an adult educator, Ms. Garramone has been awarded Adult Education Administrator of the Year for Region 18 from the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA), the Circle of Excellence Award from Sonoma State University, and the Award of Merit from the California Council for Adult Education (CCAE).
Ute Maschke, Ph.D.
Director of Continuing Education
Palomar College
About: Ute Maschke serves as the Director of Continuing Education at Palomar College. Before joining Palomar College, she served as the manager for East Region Adult Education, a consortium that unites adult and continuing education programs and institutions across San Diego’s East region and led a leadership program for the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce.
Before moving to the West Coast, Ute taught at Vassar College and Cornell University and earned her PH.D. and a MA from Brown University, plus a MA in Education from Rostock University, Germany.
