Connections Group

Connections Group is the official referral networking group of the Poway Chamber! Attendees will have the opportunity to introduce themselves during a round robin, and most meetings will feature a special guest presenter.

We are now incorporating a "speed networking" segment into the Connections Group meetings! In the last 15-20 minutes, we'll dive into the question, "How Do You Handle Yelp As A Business?" This topic is more relevant than ever as businesses continue to navigate the impact of online reviews on their reputation and success. It's a great opportunity to exchange ideas, strategies, and tips on managing your business's presence on Yelp.


This month, we are happy to welcome Aj Day, with Paychex, who will be discussing everything CA Compliance, Cal/OSHA and general tips for Human Resource Practices. Aj was born and raised in San Diego, where he grew up playing a variety of sports before ultimately choosing lacrosse. He attended Sonoma State University, where he played lacrosse for all four years and earned a BS in Business Marketing. After graduating, he quickly dove into the world of tech sales. Upon returning to San Diego, Aj built a small lacrosse business, managed a local travel ball team, and led the Grossmont College Men's Lacrosse Team for several years.

After gaining extensive experience in the tech industry and managing a small business, Aj transitioned to Paychex to deepen his understanding of California compliance and regulation, preparing for the launch of another small business in the near future. He married his beautiful wife, Kim, in November, and they now live in Clairemont with their two dogs, enjoying everything San Diego County has to offer. They are planning to buy a home in Poway in the coming year and look forward to becoming more engaged with the community as they prepare for their growing family. 

Open to all Chamber members, Connections Group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at the Poway Branch Library Community Room. Meeting is free and includes light refreshments.
