\n\nThis Month&rsquo\;s Speaker: Larry Cohen\, MBA
\n\nSan Diego County Treasurer-Tax Collector
\n\nLarry Cohen serves San Diego County residents as the County&rsquo\;s Treasurer-Tax Collector\, having been sworn into office on November 18\, 2025. Larry oversees the collection of more than $9 billion in property taxes each year\, the management of $15-19 billion in the County&rsquo\;s Investment Pool\, and the administration of the County&rsquo\;s over $1.5 billion deferred contribution program.
\n\nLarry previously served as Chief of Staff to Congressman Juan Vargas\, who sits on the House Financial Services Committee. For over five years\, Mr. Cohen acted as chief advisor in supporting Vargas&rsquo\;s work on the committee\, which oversees banks\, pensions\, and federal securities legislation.
\n\nIn the private sector\, Larry worked for Millipore Sigma\, where he managed a $30 million business line and was responsible for profit and loss performance\, investment strategies\, and contract negotiations.
\n\nMr. Cohen has a master&rsquo\;s in business administration from Strayer University in Washington\, D.C.\, and he holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California\, San Diego.
\n\nLarry and his wife Laura of over twenty-eight years have three boys they&rsquo\;re raising in Carlsbad.
