THE LITTLE MERMAID
Missoula Children’s Theatre Camp
The annual Youth Theater Camp takes more than 60 local children from auditions, to rehearsals, to the stage in just one week. After auditioning on Monday, March 2nd, the young cast members will spend the week learning their lines, perfecting their dance moves and crafting a full-scale musical production of The Little Mermaid.
The Poway Center for the Performing Arts Foundation’s Youth Theater Camp is presented as part of the Foundation’s Arts in Education Initiative, serving 3,000+ children in grades K-12. The Arts in Education Initiative is presented in part by AT&T, the Betsy Dam Fund for Arts Education, Wells Fargo, Target and US Bank.

The Poway Chamber of Commerce will host the second annual Mickey Cafagna Memorial Golf Classic on Friday, March 20, 2015. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. and shotgun start at 12:30pm. The event will be held at Maderas Golf Club in Poway. At 5:30pm all players are invited to attend the Awards Dinner which will be held in the Maderas Ballroom. Guests of players may attend the reception for $35 by pre-registering online.
The Poway Chamber Board of Directors elected to honor the well-loved former Mayor of Poway, Mickey Cafagna, by establishing this annual event in his memory. Mickey Cafagna was one of the most respected and well-liked elected officials in the city’s history and distinguished himself by his thoughtful leadership both on behalf of our community as well as for the betterment of our entire region. "Honoring Mickey in this way means so much to our family," said Sharon Cafagna. "Mickey was so proud of Poway and the folks who make our community special. Knowing people are gathering in his memory at Maderas, a course he loved, would certainly put a smile on his face."
