He is also a respected singer and songwriter in his own right and has won countless awards during his legendary career including a 2014 Grammy® for Best Blues Album (with Ben Harper), 27 Blues Music Awards, induction into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2010 and multiple Grammy?nominations. His collaborations include musical giants like Howlin Wolf, Muddy Waters, Big Joe Williams, Little Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson, Tom Waits, Eddie Vedder, and John Lee Hooker. You'll hear echoes of Jimi Hendrix, the Blind Boys of Alabama and even the laidback groove of Jack Johnson here, but make no mistake: this is the blues! About his music, Charlie states "The blues sounded like how I felt growing up.
